Yes. I copied the 0.48 installation into the 0.39 folder. It is also redoing the thumbnails completely.

Yes. there was no xnview.ini in the 0.48 folder. So the original xnview.ini was kept.

And if you replace the xnview.db by your save, same thing?
You have not the 'Export rating in XMP metadata'?

With a clean db, i've made some rating with 0.39, start 0.48, and all is here...

How do you mean? There are no new problems with rating. But it was not possible to keep the rating when going from 0.39 to 0.48.

I've made rating in 0.39, and start 0.48, all my rating are here...
