GLIBCXX_3.4.14 error in v0.50

Neither the deb nor the tgz works for this reason. I'm in debian squeeze 32bit and apparently have gcc v4.3.5-4, 4.4.5-1, & 4.4.5-8 installed. Any chance it can be fixed. 0.39 worked great but now I'm having trouble even getting that to start.
