Categories.db AGAIN

Post by obelisk »

OK I'm about to give up on using Categories at all.
I setup all these Categories and tagged 10k+ of files.

I reprocessed some files and as a result they have moved from <path1>\x.jpg to <path2>\x.jpg. Path names are different lengths so I can't hack into the category.db to fix it.

I'm not going to re-categorize all these files again. I can't find a free sqlite editor that can do batch replace. I feel like I'm wasting my time. Half the time I'm worried category.db will be corrupt and lose all my data gain so I can't open multiple xnviews. 4 Years ago we asked you to store category either in a folder db file, or in IPTC. It's clearly not going to happen. So what now?

My search for sqlite editors all can read, and edit one cell
But nothing can do replace <path1> to <path2>

That's why I can't fix it.
When will MP be complete replacement for XnView?
