XnV under SuSE 8.2

Post by stefan »

Hello!

I've got a problem with XnV 1.5/1.68 (both static and openmotif) under SuSE Linux 8.2. When I try to open the "Open..."-,
"View in hexa..."-, "Browse..."-, "* Convert..."- or "General Options..."-window or passed a filename in the command line it crashes with these messages:

Warning: Connot convert string "-*-helvetica-?-?-normal-*-?-?-?-?-*-*-?-?" to type FontStruct {already occurs when opening menu}
XLoadQueryFont error ******** {only when try to open "Browse..."}
X Error of failed request: BadName (named color or font does not exist)
Major opcode of failed request: 45 (X_OpenFont)
Serial number of failed request: ?
Current serial number in output stream: ?

? stands for different strings depending on what I've tried to open. So, only these windows are possible to have a look at:
"XnView v1.68" (main), "Capture setup", "Slide Show", "Available formats", "Thanks...", "Infos", "About XnView". All the
others only appear for a really short time. When a filename is passed, you can see the "Loading..."-window for short, but
that's the end. It isn't possible to see any pics without the logo in the "About XnView"-window!

Here is a short list of what I've installed, I can post a whole if anybody likes.

X: 4.3.0-15 (1024x786x24, framebuffer driver)
Kernel: 2.4.20-4GB-athlon (SuSE)
OpenMotif: 2.2.2-204
some font packages

Is anybody out there who can help me???[/i][/b]

Hi!

Oh... A good idea! 8-]
Your hint makes me remember about my XF86Config file: I've had installed many font-rpms, but didn't added their directories to the FontPath! So they're installed, but not used. Stupid like me...

Ok, thanks a lot!
