is the lack of a small feature but which enough times helps a lot:
In the Move To... (or Copy To...) dialog exists a check box saying "show selected folder in folder tree".
Please add next to it a button with the caption "Expand Now...".
When we'll press on it, it will expand the folder tree above to the folder which actually is in the edit box bellow.

... I see that you have already the code to do this because the directory tree changes correctly when one closes the drop-down box. But this doesn't cove the case when one writtes copy/pastes the path from another app or writes the path by hand.
