I'd like to see the possibility to write xmp sidecars when adding keywords or color tags to RAW files. At the moment, my RAW converters don't see the keywords or tags (neither PhotoNinja nor AfterShotPro nor Lightroom 5).
Thanks again!

I've done that. If I assign keywords to jpgs, XnView MP shows me the keywords in the properties windows. AfterShot Pro shows them too.m.Th. wrote:Try to check the appropriate checkboxes in Tools | Settings | Metadata... and report back what's happening.
+1!!!Fraenzken wrote:Hi Pierre,
would it be much hassle to add this? With this feature I could use XnViewMP as a DAM.
Thanks

First, we need an interoperation via XMP with the other well-known programs.xnview wrote:As xmp sidecars? Or modify the RAW file?
As a sidecar please. Modifying the RAW file wouldn't be a good ideas imho.xnview wrote:As xmp sidecars? Or modify the RAW file?

first of all a happy new year to you and a big thanks for the new version! XnView MP gets better and better!
One feature that I sorely miss though is the ability to write xmp sidecars for RAW files, e.g. after adding keywords. Thus the RAW-converter could pick up the keywords and write them to the developped jpg. Would it be possible to add this functionality?
Thanks again,
Frank
Perhaps the best thing would be one or two checkboxes sayingFraenzken wrote:Thanks; works splendidly! It would be great though to have the option to write the xmp files automatically when adding a keyword.
I use PhotoNinja b.t.w. - great results, albeit a bit slow.

"Export keywords in XMP metadata"
and
"Export metadata to XMP before using 'Open With...'"
