Crash when converting a specific file

Post by bouki »

When I try to convert an image to jpg, xnview crash
This happens only when the image to convert is a png (but file extension is .jpg)
I know this is incorrect but I have 10k images to convert and some have these kind of errors

If you are able to place the PNGs with a JPG extension into a separate folder, you could then use a batch renaming utility to change the extension of those files from .jpg to .png very easily. Then you should be able to convert the images to JPGs successfully.

Edit:

The XnView browser Tools > Rename... function can be used to change the extensions of a folder of images without altering the file names:
Image_1.png
If you can't separate the files with the incorrect extension easily if you upload a sample file maybe Peter2 has an idea?
