Converting a file from .kqp to .jpg

I specifically downloaded Xn View with the hope that I could convert a bunch of .kqp files into .jpg files. When I try to do it, I get the message that I need to go the "Options>General" and check the box for "Display all file types." I have done that, and yet I continue to get the same message. Can anyone help me understand why and suggest what I might do next?
