Simple question regarding search results

Post by merry widow »

I'm sure this must be somewhere, but I can't find it. I performed a search for 16px x 16px icons/bitmaps but can't figure out how to display all 79 of the search results in one window. :?: It's only letting me display one at a time.

Thank you so much!

You have to click on the Browse button, when the search is completed.

Because this is a large volume of images I'm going to sample I've unchecked the option for looping: The Slideshow may run once; the Slideshow may not loop. That's set and works correctly; the desired outcome however does not, and I wonder if we could just forensically review the steps I'm taking. I'm trying to keep this simple so I won't filter the file types, only their size: *.* and 16px x 16px. I begin:
  1. Open xnview.exe
  2. Search for images 16px x 16px . . . (it finds 79 images)
  3. Click Browse
  4. Select All . . . (of the 79 images)
  5. Open Slideshow . . . (see the list of 79 images)
  6. Click Go
  7. Use the Insert Key to tag the images I want
Slideshow completes and returns me to the main Slideshow window
  • Now what?
The only way I can exit Slideshow is by clicking Cancel. There must be some sort of container where my tagged files are held in cache(?) Thank you xNtriq and I'll look forward to your reply.

Leave the slideshow dialog by clicking on Cancel and go to View » Tree pane » Categories » Tag. This will tell XnView to display only thumbnails of tagged files in the browser.

FYI: There are three buttons right above the tree pane and below the main toolbar for switching between Folders, Favourites, and Categories.

The feature is Folders and I would respectfully suggest the Developer adopt the same convention given that it is the universally-recognized term. Since the function is what I call a "Tier 1" hierarchical operation — meaning that the operation precedes so many other functions — the developer should probably give the function its own button showing on the toolbar by default, removable if User doesn't for some reason need it.
