Batch Processing vs. Sequence Convert

I will use the traditional version then.

Is it correct that i there cannot self determine the rename extension? As far as i can see and test that version auto-renames to _1.
You might look at the little used Tools > Sequence convert... and see if you can figure out a way of getting the result you want using that: at the top of the menu there is the text 'Use # in Filename to indicate where the number appears'. You would need to explore that function and do some tests on copies of files...

Thanks, i tried Tools-Sequence Converter. And i found and tried Tools-Batch Rename.

They do rename but i dont get them running any batch?!

In SC i have to select 1 file and cannot just select the whole directory. It also does not accept Ctrl-A command. I guess i have to do something with Start, Step and End?

Batch Rename auto-takes the directory but also processes only 1 file. I guess i here also have to do something with Start and Step?

When in SC i had 162001 entered in Start and End it only ran P1620114.jpg and nothing more.
When in SC i removed that last "1" in Start and End so there was only 1620 it only ran P1620009.jpg and nothing more.

It must be Start, Step and End settings but i dont get it yet...

XnView 'Sequence Convert' : this is a little used function and after looking at it myself I'm not entirely sure either how it is intended to be used, and whether it can process a folder of files; if you wish to persevere with it you could start a new XnView 'General Support' thread.

Edit: To use 'Sequence Convert' I think the files to be converted need to numbered consecutively, or with a constant 'Step' value, which doesn't appear to be the case with your files.
