10 bit display

Post by NatanHaim »

Hello!

First of all, thanks for all your hard work on this project. XnView is really great!

I have started to bring-up a 10 bit testing environment. I am using nVidia Quadro k620 GPU with Eizo CG318-4K display using DisplayPort. I have confirmed using an OpenGL test based on the NVAPI article (https://www.nvidia.com/docs/IO/40049/TB ... 02_new.pdf) that it is working properly using a 10-bit grayscale ramp.

Now to my question... does XnView support display of 10 bit files? If so, which format should I use? I am familiar with DPX, PPM, TIF, but can convert to some other format if supported.

The files I am interested in are in the RGB color space with 4:4:4 sampling.

Appreciate any response!

EDIT:

If anyone has any suggestions for other programs which support native 10bpc display, please let me know! It would be really nice if I didn't have to program something in OpenGL for this :)

Best,
Natan Jacobson
