.max files' thumbnails not displaying in XnView MP

Post by kevin.internet »

Hello,

In XnView classic, .max files do display the thumbnail correctly for me.

In XnView MP, the .max files are not displaying the thumbnails.

I tried Tools-Settings-General checked Show all graphic formats - restarted XnView MP - no change

Am I missing a setting somewhere in the interface to be able to display the .max files' thumbnails ?

these files use plugin Xcompound.dll, if you use the 32bits version of XnViewMP, you can use it

Hello,

I removed the 64 bit version and installed the 32 bit version.

The thumbnails for max files still do not display. It just shows the 3dsmax icon.

Do I need to associate to this .dll somehow?

I think you need to download the plug-in from this link, it's the 'Compound' plug-in for 3DSMax, and then extract it and put it in the XnView MP x32 plugins folder.

I assume you are using Windows.

Having located it I've attached a copy anyway...
