In the list of formats I found JPEG-LS ... I downloaded the normal version of 1.68.1 but there is no jpeg-ls support ...

what am I doing wrong?

look for "xjpegls.dll" under "plugins" folder .. if not available download plugins.zip.. from xnview site..

Maad's hint is correct, but there is an easier way to find out about the installed and recognized Plug-Ins:
Start XnView and select the menu "Info->Plug-Ins information". There, all the Plug-Ins installed (properly) are listed.
