0.84: Saving ignores JPEG quality

Post by Guinness »

Hi, I think I found a bug in the new MP v0.84: If I try to save an image as jpeg the file size always stays the same (rather big) no matter what jpeg quality I choose. For me it looks as if the quality is always stuck at 100%. Can anyone confirm this issue?

Due to an [unexplained] limitation in the Qt toolset used for 'MP, compression can only be set in File > Format settings... in the Viewer ...

Thanks for your reply. That was the way I tried to set the jpeg quality and this sadly has no effect on the quality and/or file size. Could you please check, if you are able to change the jpeg quality if you have installed v0.84?

I'm on vacation and only have an Android tablet, could someone else check please?

But do you have 'use estimated original quality' [or something similar] checked, which might be the explanation??

I re-checked it and no, this option isn't selected.

The status bar isn't updated when saving, see topic 0.84: file size not renewed after resizing the image for details.

Is this perhaps the problem you experience, Guinness?
