Issue with selection tool in 0.84

For some reason every time I try to make a selection when working with a raw image (CR2 in this case), the selection tool treats the top left quadrant of the image as the entire image, not allowing one to select anything else.

Sounds like a strange problem. Which OS (Windows, Linux, MacOS) do you use? In which mode (Viewer or Fullscreen) do you try to make the selection?
