previews are right, thumbnails are wrong

Wrong miniatures.
Thumbnails are wrong, preview shows right pictures.
Opening shows also the right picture.
Not all of them, only the replaced pictures with the same filename.
Refresh does not change thumbnails.

Yes, when I copy the file to another place, then thumbnail is correct.

Same folder content at the same time, view in XnView, GraphicConverter and Finder.
The pictures were cropped by GraphicConverter (to leave it at 48 Bit).
There are few pictures with special behavior
Copy or move them to another folder, then are all miniatures OK.
Just renaming folder, then are all miniatures OK.
Renaming back to the original folder name, miniatures are wrong.

Without a local Help file, this is hard to track.

There's 'EXIF thumbnail - Rebuild' under Tools, Metadata - and there's View, Rebuild thumbnails (in Browser mode).
I wonder if there's a difference.
