Software: XnView MP 0.94.1 Zip Win 64-bit
OS: Windows 10 LTSC - 64-bit

To reproduce:
1. Select a png image file.
2. Click "Tools - Batch convert".
3. Choose the "Output" subfield. Set "When output files already exist" as "Skip" and check “Use CPU Cores”. Choose the "format" as "JPG - JPEG / JFIF".
4. All other setings remain default.
5. click "Convert". Please notice the extension name of the resulting image file. It's ".png", but not ".jpg".

It is interesting that the operation history may affect the result. I started XnViewMP, and did the png-to-jpg conversion immediately (keep the settings as described above); the bug recurred. Then I did some other conversion operations. Did the png-to-jpg conversion again, sometimes the bug recurred again, but sometimes the bug disappeared. I'm sorry that I didn't find the law.

what do you have in 'Filename'? 'Preserve extension' is enabled?
