Disable import from clipboard

I run XnView on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and understand most people use Windows

I need to disable XnView's ability store clipboard data as I have reason to believe it causes a library conflict that causes gimp to crash. Does anyone know if this is possible?

xnview is messing with clipboard on windows too, that's all I know

what do you means by 'store clipboard data'??
