RW2 files

Post by IamFof »

Sometime last year, after a bought a new camera, I found a patch/plug-in that allowed XNViewMP to handle, but not save in RW2.
No idea where it came from, but I suspect here.
Any help, guys?
TIA

Rick
I suspect I may have had a bit of a brain fade. Apologies
On my machine, I can open RW2 files, but not save in RW2 format.
On my new one, when I tried to open an RW2, it asked to convert to , RGB8bit.
Durr!! This is for displaying the image.
Can I replace the RGB, 8bit with greater colour depth?

Some confusion, I think...

Currently XnView software can only process 24-bit images, 8 bits per pixel RGB, so images with a higher bit depth such as 48-bit images from modern cameras are converted to 24-bit RGB, with a warning notification displayed. The software then provides a way of reducing the colour depth, if required.

An exception is that 32-bit images with four 8-bit channel images, for example with transparency, can be opened and processed. A further exception is the command line software NConvert which can, I understand, open 48-bit images.

Thanks, guys
If I want to batch convert, yes I can do these, but if I open a 48bit RW2, just to view it, I have to accept 8bit conversion.
See attached.
What I would like is to open in 24bit, at least.
I guess not possible?

The image will be opened at 24-bit colour depth, 'component' refers to each 8-bit colour channel RGB... :D
