Reattaching Categories

I had to move some directories to free up some disk space, and now the categories filter no longer meshes with the directory files. Is there a way to realign them. I moved the files from c:\photo files to d:\photo files. XnView still looks for the files in the original directory. I then used Settings->catalog->relocate, but that didn't solve the problem.

Any suggestions?

Did you use "Base path" ?
How many photos do you have to correct ?

At the top of the "categories" panel, you can use "categorie' s filter , export" to create a xml file containing the paths of photos that are in the catalog.
By editing this (text) file, maybe you'll be able to find what is the problem .
Sometimes it's easy with search/replace in your text editor , to get a right xml file.
Then, with "categorie's filter / import", you can repair your catalog. But ratings and color labels are lost.

If your categories are saved as iptc or xmp keywords, no probleme, else you must be very careful.
