0.96.4 verticals

Post by elfroggio »

I use Rawtherapee 5.8 (linux/manjaro/kde) to "develop" my images.

I have a bunch of images, some are in the landscape mode and a few in the portrait/vertical mode. When I opened one of the vertical/portrait in Rawtherapee 5.8, xnviewmp created a second copy horizontal/landscape

Image

XnViewMP created 6 files with ".original":

elie-20200718-9297.raf
elie-20200718-9297.raf.original

elie-20200718-9299.raf
elie-20200718-9299.raf.original

elie-20200718-9300.raf
elie-20200718-9300.raf.original

elie-20200718-9301.raf
elie-20200718-9301.raf.original

elie-20200718-9302.raf
elie-20200718-9302.raf.original

elie-20200718-9303.raf
elie-20200718-9303.raf.original

The ones highlighted in blue. I didn't highlight them, this was done by XnViewMP 0.96.4. I use the xnview appimage.

How can I fix this?

Thanks

No!

XnviewMP was open (on my left monitor). I opened Rawtherapee (on my right monitor) and selected one (only one) of these images in Rawtherapee 5.8 to edit. As soon as RT started the edit, XnviewMp created the second set.

I didn't use XnViewMP to open RT.

Thanks

No, never.

That's why instead of going through the general support board/group, I came to the bug board/group.

Yes, I'm sure that it wasn't Rawtherapee. I have been using it for almost 2 years and it never created ".original" files.

BUT, I did enter/change some of the IPTC. Are you saysing that XNViewMP changed the raw file? Isn't it supposed to write these to the XMP sidecar?

I never want to modify the actual raw file.

Thanks

I don't know

I did set some IPTC, but I was expecting to add it to the sidecar, never the raw.

Tools > metadata > edit iptc/xmp

How to just save to the sidecar? I don't want to modify the raws ever.

I have a whole bunch of tags to do....

Thanks

Has a bug been filled? To get it fixed in a near future/version?

Thank you
