Need help

Post by Rawas »

XnView MP Windows
Version 0.98.1 64bits (Jan 20 2021)

Libformat version 7.65

How to not rotate image after crop?
How to not reset zoomed scale when list images?
How to crop image in full view?
How to use same crop format (size) to not need each time to adjust it?

1. when i crop image it auto rotating 180 degrees, i dont need rotating (probably because after set crop size i use mouse roll to move next image, i get warning to save image, i saving, and when scroll back, image became autorotating and saved in that state, if not use mouse scroll, and press save button before, image not autoroting)
2. When i go to next image, zoom scale from previous images is reseting, and i need again zoom to same scale (for example i want to see only center of each image scaled to 300x zoom)
3. in full screen view there are not option to crop image
4. All my images is same size and same scale (scanned books) i need quick crop 10.000 images, so very slow to fit to same crop size each image, i just want to click next, and insuring in good crop size and place, crop image and save.

there is no auto rotate, perhaps your image has an orientation EXIF field. Could you post it?

even if you use 'Lock zoom'?
3. in full screen view there are not option to crop image
you need to be in edit mode (fullscreen or not)
4. All my images is same size and same scale (scanned books) i need quick crop 10.000 images, so very slow to fit to same crop size each image, i just want to click next, and insuring in good crop size and place, crop image and save.
Why you don't use 'batch convert'?

When I crop IMG_0153.JPG in edit mode I have no rotation...

In fullscreen you can enable the crop tool using Shift+X.

But if you have a large book scanning project, you should possibly also look at a utility called ScanTailor, specifically designed for processing large numbers of book scans and highly recommended by people who have used it. It is available in several versions now developed from the original tool.

There is also a forum dedicated to book scanning DiyBookScanner which might be worth a look, although it is rather quiet now.
