Search conditions don't work

I searched *.jpg
then pathname contains "alex"

results, nothing to do with alex.

Could be that if you have more than 1 condition, it uses 'or' which is not very useful

"Use catalog" is valid ?
If you search in your catalog, you must have put your photos.

"Case sensitive" is valid ?
Maybe a difference between *.jpg and *.JPG
You can make a screenshot ?

no I mean it just lists EVERYTHING
might as well have 0 conditions

I used a few conditions and it'll just show anything that matches 1 thing

please make a screenshot, and which folder hierarchy do you have?

I've tried to reproduce your problem but without success. For me XnView's search (Tools > Search...) works as expected. At first, I forgot to check "Recurse subfolders" but after that one all jpg files in folders that matched the criteri were listed. Is option "Match all of the following conditions" set? A screenshot of your Search dialog would be very helpful, obelisk.
