Fullscreen Mode only displays first two images correctly when navigating in fullscreen

Just bought a macbook pro (used) and installed xnview after using xnview for several years on my macbook air (RIP).

When I go into fullscreen mode, and begin cycling/navigating through the pictures using the keyboard (have not tried mouse, prefer keyboard), the first two images display correctly (i have preload next image turned on; image resize set to Fit Image to Window under Preferences>View>Fullscreen), however when I go to the third image it only shows a small sliver of it at the top, the rest of the screen still remains as the previous image. Continuing to cycle through shows different slivers at the top (as it is cycling through the images and the image counter is correct ex. 14/123 <- shows the image it should be on but the image is obscured by the previous image that is not going away), and every once in a while, intermittently correctly shows one of the images, then that image becomes the "stuck" image obscuring any images after.

I've tried changing tons of settings, googling my brains out, emailing Pierre, and now I have found this support forum. Help!

I am using xnview for mac. I had used it for several years on my macbook air, it had a few bugs and issues but I was able to make do, and don't get me wrong, better than any other software available in the same space.

However, I had to replace that, and purchased a macbook pro. Just installed xnview on the pro, and the way I normally view photos is I go to the folder, double click the first image, then click the icon for fullscreen. Then use the keyboard for navigation/zooming/etc

However, on this new install I just did, when I try to do that, it works fine, shows the first image in full screen. Then I click the right arrow and it correctly shows the next image (i have "preload next image" turned on). However, no matter what I have tried, nothing changes the fact that when you hit the right arrow for a second time to go to the third image, the current (2nd) image does not disappear and at the top, maybe about an inch or less of the next (3rd) picture shows up on top of the incorrect image.

If I keep going pushing the right arrow, you can see its cycling through the images (and the counter shows the correct image number in the info area, and if i hit enter to exit fullscreen, then hit enter again, it will be on the correct photo
). .

Also, maybe 5% of the photos will show the whole image, then that photo becomes the one that is "stuck" and covering the other images as I cycle through.


I have googled until blue in the face on this. I cannot even find anyone with this same issue! I have changed just about every preference that seemed relevant as well, and disable as much as I could that was disable-able.



Also, not sure how/if this matters, but intermitently the preferences (and about XNview) will be "grayed out" in the XNview menu (the far left menu next to the apple), and I have to quit and restart XNview to get them to be available again.

I get that in the Windows version; one thumbnail is on all as you scroll
Click one of those thumbnails and they will all appear on that screen. I think it is a refresh issue
