Disable all extra view modes
All this view different view modes really confuse me, especially one that opens when you simply press middle mouse button, i never use it. Only need two modes - thumbnails view and full screen view.

I'm the same. The solution is simple, though:FKCapitalism wrote: Mon May 23, 2022 6:11 pmAll this view different view modes really confuse me, especially one that opens when you simply press middle mouse button, i never use it. Only need two modes - thumbnails view and full screen view.
Enter Settings. Go to Interface, and then the tab named "Switching mode".
There, set all of the alternatives to "Browser <> Fullscreen | Viewer <> Fullscreen". (except if you want any of double-click, middle-click, or Enter, to not switch between browser (this is the thumbnail view) and fullscreen. Any you don't want to do that, just set to "Do nothing")
Once you do that, enter fullscreen once, and then they won't lead to Viewer mode again …unless you go to Viewer mode through the toolbar button, or through the menus. (in which case entering fullscreen again, will fix the problem)
As or the toolbar button, I strongly suggest going into Settings - Interface - Toolbar, and removing the button from your toolbar. For anyone who doesn't want to enter Viewer mode, having the button there, is nothing but trouble.

Re: Disable all extra view modes
If i select Browser <> Fullscreen | Viewer <> Fullscreen and click thumbnail it opens full screen with arrows on bottom.zarlan wrote: Tue May 24, 2022 4:31 pm You said you only wanted thumbnails (i.e. browser) and fullscreen …and "Viewer" is neither thumbnails, nor fullscreen, and thus clearly not a mode that you want.
When i select Browser <> Viewer it opens proper full screen without any distractions just as i like.

…and that stuff at the top left.FKCapitalism wrote: Tue May 24, 2022 7:34 pmIf i select Browser <> Fullscreen | Viewer <> Fullscreen and click thumbnail it opens full screen with arrows on bottom.
Just go into Settings - Fullscreen, and uncheck all the "Show…" options. (you can also uncheck the "Always in fullscreen" box, in Settings - View - Info, for good measure)
Then they will go away.
That is cannot, in any possible way, be referred to as fullscreen. When i select Browser <> Viewer it opens proper full screen without any distractions just as i like.
The image doesn't fill the screen, at all. You have the titlebar, menu-bar, toolbar, stratus bar, and taskbar, all taking up space on the screen (how are they, not distractions?), and the image only shown in the remaining space.
The image doesn't fill the screen, hence it isn't full screen.

Ok, so you would like the 'edit mode'. With this option, you have no more fullscreen, it's ok for you?FKCapitalism wrote: Tue May 24, 2022 7:34 pm When i select Browser <> Viewer it opens proper full screen without any distractions just as i like.

Re: Disable all extra view modes
For me personally key to a good image viewer is simplicity, i really get confused by all different modes that XnView MP offers, i just want to simplify it as much as possible. Regarding full screen settings allow me to configure XnView MP as i like so i am happy about it, no need to change anything.xnview wrote: Mon May 30, 2022 10:15 amOk, so you would like the 'edit mode'.
