Shortcut to iptc/xmp templates
Hi Pierre, thx for comming back on this.
We like todo xmp-templates. And the content-template has to be applied manualy for each image.
I can type content into XMP-fwc and can save it as a sample as *.xxmp
The templates including content for a few metadata fields. Sound good so far...
I can share the *.xxmp-files with all users via AppData\XnViewMP...
The user can view all of the *.xxmp in the list but it doesnt apply on the image any how. Maybe this is my wrong thinking.
............................................................................................................................................................................
What I found instead is a seperate "history list" for each single xmp-fwc customfield. Not easy to access for some fields. Maybe there is an option missing (see next image)
Option to open this list found in an other metadata field... (next image) The list for each field... The applied content can access to each image and its shown under each single xmp-fwc customfield
Just figured out: all content gets saved in the XMP.ini - thats brilliant!
What I do not get is a template for more than one metadata field as I can do with the *.xxmp
Question: where is my wrong thinking or doing? How can we apply the content to an image manualy with the *.xxmp-templates?

Re: Shortcut to iptc/xmp templates
Hi Pierre, sorry for the delayed answer...
The answer is no. If I/we apply a XMP-template it wont write the Metadata into fwc xmp fields.
(by the way this is ver. 1.00)
The original file with "ModifyDate" befor...
Open it into XMP, choosed one of the *.xxmp templates (sample attached *.zip)
Applied it to fwc 1-3, but it doesnt show up in GUI...
And doestn show up in Metadata XMP, but ad CreateDate to it... (ModifyDate?)
If I edit it manual (typing text), it shows up... Will try this later on my private Windows PC to check if its a "rights thing" on AppData/... and let you know tomorrow... 25th...
The *.xxmp is enclosed from ...User/AppData/XnViewMP...

Re: Shortcut to iptc/xmp templates
Sorry for the delay!
Checked *.xxmp templates on my priv. pc (win10) with version 1.00...
Did that with "standard setup" (... like install, ok, ok, ok, done!)
Same problem: Cant apply the templates to xmp metadata...

Right.Same problem: Cant apply the templates to xmp metadata...
XMP templates are not working in "Edit xmp" dialog.
The fields stay emptyyou can't apply a saved .xxmp? nothing happened when you select it?
This problem could be mentioned in the bug reports section of the forum
When the bug is solved, we can continue here to discuss the possibility to apply templates in one click
Templates are working in "Edit iptc" dialog, with IPTC metadata
(... and if mode "IPTC + create or update xmp" is enabled, xmp fields will also be updated.)
