Using XnView MP 1.5.0 on iMac with Intel processor.
When you open this HEIC file in XnView MP and zoom in 1:1 (100 %) on the man with the red jacket on the left side, the red jacket is poorly displayed. Details are lost and the color is too pale. This is particularly noticeable on the red hood of the jacket.
When opening the same image in Apple's Preview or GraphicConverter 12, this issue does not occur.

not easy to see, which high zoom quality do you use?

Re: Poor quality when opening HEIC file
Zoom quality settings shouldn't matter when viewing 1:1 (100 %), right? Anyway, I tried all zoom quality settings, and the same issue was visible with all of them. I have an iMac 2020 with 27" display supporting P3 color space.
By the way, when storing the image in PNG format, the PNG file will have poor quality also when opened afterwards with other image viewers/editors. So the damage will permanent.
And yes, the quality is not absolutely terrible. But it's worse than in other programs. Even as a hobbyist, I'd like to have the best possible quality. So, this issue makes XnView MP unusable for me when it comes to opening HEIC files.
Re: Poor quality when opening HEIC file
you're right, i have it on 1.5.0 but no more on the 1.5.1 which fix this issue

Re: Poor quality when opening HEIC file
