Hi, I know this is an old thread and it's my fault for not checking back for updates (I'll figure out why I'm not getting email notifications next). Anyway, I keep checking every 6 months or so to see if this transparency issue is fixed and see that it's not in the latest version (1.7.2 - mac) I'm not sure if at this point it's a known issue but if I can help explain it in any way I will. Using the ExifTool window I think I see what's different in images have this problem and the ones that don't. In my case the only difference is the Color Type field. If it's "Pallete" then the transparency isn't visible. If it's "RGB with Alpha" then the transparency is displayed correctly. Both images are 8-bit. In my case I don't know why the images have different Color Types but I'd guess this happened when I compressed some of them using a tool like tinypng.com.xnview wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2020 3:37 pm This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.97.1. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
I also attached an image of a Mac app called PicSee which displays the transparency just fine:
