Can’t Save AVIF on macOS

I haven't been able to save files to AVIF on macOS. This affects 1.8.6 and 1.8.7. I haven't tried in earlier versions.

1. Take a screenshot.
2. Open it in XnViewMP and go to File ⭢ Save as…
3. The

   Code: Select all

   Saving image…

   dialog briefly appears, and is immediately replaced by An error occurred during saving!

I've tried different settings under Preferences ⭢ Formats ⭢ Write, with no effect. The same also happens in Batch Convert. Saving all other file formats succeeds.

i'm not able to reproduce with 1.8.7, which MacOS version do you have?

I’m running macOS Sequoia 15.4 RC, on a 2019 Intel iMac, but this was happening in 15.3 as well, if I remember correctly.

ok currently AVIF output is only available on ARM
