App UI - Viewer/Browser - View/Preview menu
'Show channel' commands have limited functionality as they allow to view only single channel at a time.
It better to have new 'Use channel' commands and allow to view any combination of channels at a time.
Suggestion
A
- add 'Use channel' group
- add new Use Red, Green, Blue commands
to view multiple channels together (eg R and B), which is not possible with existing 'Show R, G, B, A' commands
- move here 'Show channel' commands
- (optional) add more combinations (like in ImageGlass)
- move here 'User transparency index (≤ 8bits)'
as it has similar 'nature', but for paletted images
- add new Use Red, Green, Blue commands
B
same as A, but
- remove 'Show channel' group
as they still can be used via shortcuts
Example
- GIMP, Photoshop, ImageGlass, AffinityPhoto
