Category selection behavior has changed

Post by dom_98 »

Hi,

I've been using XnView MP for a long time, and since an update, the behavior has changed when assigning categories to photos. The search function did not return any relevant results, but is there a possible solution for this?

I have a catalog with over 1000 keywords. Until now, when searching for a keyword, I was first taken to the correct position in the catalog, where I was able to select it.

Now, when selecting a search result, the category is selected directly. This is a bit odd, as I may have to exclude subcategories and would therefore like to be directed to the catalog entry as before.

Is there a known workaround for this? I'm using version 1.9.5 (64-bit).

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Hi Pierre,

thanks for your reply. I don't know the exact version I had back then, but I assume it's at least 2-3 years old.

In the old version, the list would always jump to the category entry I had found using the search function, but in the new version, it doesn’t do that anymore. Strangely, this only started happening after I upgraded to Windows 11, although I also had to reinstall XnView at that time.
