Auto-select default text when creating new folder

Hi,

when I create a new folder in the folder pane, it does automatically get a name like "New Folder 1". This is nice, but very often I want to give it another name, so in order to be able to overwrite right away it would make sense to automatically select the default folder name, so when I start writing my own name, I do not have to manually delete the automatic name.

Most other tools do it like this - in case I want to keep the default name, all I would have to do is to hit enter ...

I think I do have the latest version?
Running version XnView MP 1.10.5 and when I do a right click on a folder in the folder pane, choose "create new folder" it creates it with the default name not selected.

it was fixed in 1.8.6
try to reproduce with default settings (eg rename your xnview.ini)

Ok, I see why we are seeing different results, it´s because we are talking a little different things ... and it is not fixed in current version.

The "bug" I´m seeing is when I do a right-click in the folder TREE VIEW and select "New folder" from the right click menu - it creates the folder in the tree with the default name (Neuer Ordner 1 in my case) and puts the cursor for editing at the end of the default name, but does not select the name.



The fix you are referencing talks about doing the right click in the list of folders (or images), mostly that is in the middle pane - here it is working ok, as seen in below screenshot:



So I guess fixing the issue in the tree-view was forgotten, when fixing it for the folder/images list right click.
