Video info settings

Post by B.Douille »

Can we have some consistency on the design, between still images and video clips ?
Currently:
- For still image, there are a number of items displayed over the image. These items are configurable. There is nothing similar for video clips.
- For still image, taping on the image leads to the detailled information page and vice-versa. For video clips there is an icon with a small i on top right to access these information. I do not have preferences on one method vs the orher, just wish to see consistency

the problem is that single tap starts playing on a video

Ergonomy is my favorite :)
Can we allocate those common gestures?

Currently, for videos, Double tap and Long tap just react as Single tap. This by default I guess.
Swipe Up to display details of a photo or video is a quasi-standard in most gallery apps.

If OK, it would be usefull to inhibit Single tap for photos. It would make the gestures consistent and the Swipe up will become an habit before the mass of users become confused (when willing to see metadata details I am already confused on gestures between XnView and the Samsung or Google Gallery)
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Thank you for the change in v50. I see also the info on/off state is now kept while navigating from one pictures to the next/previous. It’s a good progress. And a single tap to get back from detailled view to the picture is fine. Doing so the Android Back button/gesture is preserved to return to the list.

What about the long tap gesture (infos on/off) on vidéos ?
Is it because right now theres nothing to display (at least file-related data should be enough for now) or is it a limitation with the player?
