b3: [bug] aborting rename operation by selecting other folde

Post by FlorianH »

In browser file list...
1) rename file (edit mode with textbox activated)
2) change folder by selecting other folder in treeview

-> xnview crashes

Hi Clo,

thanks for testing. Now i noticed, that i can't reproduce it all the time. Could you please try the following:

1) prepare one folder with
- file(s) - to rename
- subfolder 'new folder (0)' - must have parentheses in name!
2) delete ini and open xnview b3 and maximize xnview
3) in browser (view as thumbnails or whatever you want) select file and rename it (press F2)
4) in treeview select subfolder 'new folder (0)'

Can you reproduce now?

Thanks,
Florian

BTW: XP-Pro SP2

Happens not always, but the problem is true, see:

Note items selected in file list and tree.

Took me a long time to reproduce this one.

My Steps:

1. Single Click on selected "Nero Exit 7.jpg" to rename but don't do anything!
2. Now click on "Clips" folder in Treelist and crash!!!

I also have "Auto Collapse" enabled.

I could only get this to work on a folder full of WMV video clips?
Anyway I now have a Dr Watson log of it....

Yes, i know. It took me minimum half an hour (after Clo destroyed my illusion, that it is a simple bug / simple to reproduce :)).

I also have "Auto Collapse" enabled.
So perhaps my second posting with my steps is not right/not the only situation to reproduce it. Just a few questions:
1) Did you try with xnview.ini renamed?
2) Was xnview maximized?
3) Did you try with 'auto collapse' disabled?
4) Is there something special about yout file/folder situation?
5) Can you reproduce it all the time or just sometimes?

I can't test right now, because i'm on a mac - and there is no xnview beta...

No I haven't tried deleting the INI and I won't either.
Yes, XnView is maximised.
Disabling "Auto Collapse" didn't change anything, it still crashes.
Yes, I can reproduce "my method" 100% of the time.
