Image description - focus disappears
Each time I describe image with Ctrl+D, cursor disappears and I can't continue on next img. What's wrong?
Re: Img. description - cursor disapears and I can't continue
I'm using XnView v1.70 RC3 with Win2k SP4 and do not have this problem. However when I type in the description box the mouse pointer disappears and re-appears when I move the mouse but I think thats normal.Orictes wrote:Each time I describe img. with Ctrl+D, cursor disapears and I can't continue on next img. Re: Img. description - cursor disapears and I can't continue
...no, it is not. Cursor disapears and after pressing a key it is on a parent directory position [..]. It's evidently bug, it is almost impossible to do descriptions in directories with a lot of pictures. I have to use ACDSee instead.

Hmm. what keyboard and mouse software do you have installed? I have IntelliPoint v4.12 and IntelliType Pro v2.1 installed.Orictes wrote:...no, it is not. Re: Img. description - cursor disapears and I can't continue
... the problem doesn't depend on the mouse at all. Ctrl+D on a picture, typing description and Enter and then picture is deselected and after pressing any key a parent directory [..] is selected instead of the same or next picture. Sorry for the term "cursor" I've meant the "selected picure" (keyboard cursor).

After I enter a description for an image the image stays selected and I can then move on to a another image.Anonymous wrote:... the problem doesn't depend on the mouse at all. Are you using XnView v1.70 RC3 or v1.68.1?
Re: Img. description - cursor disapears and I can't continue
... both of them, it's strange... I tried it on another computer and it's the same.ckit wrote:... Are you using XnView v1.70 RC3 or v1.68.1?

After using Describe dialog box, the focus is no more on the thumbnail view?WinXP Pro SP1 (Czech version)

Now I can simulate this problem. Go to 'Options - Browser - File list' and uncheck option 'All other files'. If I let it checked, everything is OK. Try it and let me know please.xnview wrote:After using Describe dialog box, the focus is no more on the thumbnail view?WinXP Pro SP1 (Czech version)

Re: Img. description - cursor disapears and I can't continue
I've just tried and could easily reproduce the problem - both on Windows XP SP1 and on Windows 2000 (no SP). When confirming the dialog the focus moves to 'nowhere'.Orictes wrote:Now I can simulate this problem. Go to 'Options - Browser - File list' and uncheck option 'All other files'. Pierre, on the option page there's two settings for 'All other files', did you uncheck the one in the frame 'Item shown in thumbnail mode' (just to make sure)?
Some more details:
- It doesn't matter if you use the mouse or keyboard.
- If you cancel the dialog 'Description', the problem does not occur.
Re: Img. description - cursor disapears and I can't continue
I've tried again with the 1.70, and the focus is back on the thumbnail list.helmut wrote:I've just tried and could easily reproduce the problem - both on Windows XP SP1 and on Windows 2000 (no SP). When confirming the dialog the focus moves to 'nowhere'.
