MBM files in 24bit/8bit Colour format

Post by dxrd »

Hi!

I've been trying to convert some jpeg files to mbm format, but the xnview nconvert) doesn't allow me to save the files in other format than 16 level grayscale.

I wonder what could be wrong ?

And there is one other thing; the files that I've converted to the grayscale do not show on my 9210i. The device just complains about buffer overflow.

AFAIK the MBM format is the same on both devices, the psion 5 and 9210i or am I completely wrong ? (Though the psion doesn't have a color display!)

Could you send me some samples in 8 & 24bits?

I don't know, but do you have sample of MBM for 9210i?

That's the problem - I can save (any) graphic in 16 color gray, but the other possibilites are just "shadowed out" that I can't eves select them.

I've tried numerous pictures, each time with the same result :(.

Maybe, there was some sample pictures installed in the 9210i. (though I've already deleted them.) I'll check through the nokia website and the CD that was supplied with the phone.

Damn... the files seem to be stored in the flash memory of the 9210i, so I can't undelete them, unless I reset my 9210i, which I don't want to do!

If you somehow could extract contents of some .SIS file, there would be
plenty of MBM data to examine!

Hey! I found ONE mbm file from the system folder of the 9210i. It's a picture of a folder... size 2 kb :).

I can send this one to you, if it's any use to you :)

Alright then. How do I send it to you - as an email attachment ?

Sorry that the answering took so long - I'm currently studying, and I don't have a PC at the dormitory , so I'll have to use the PCs at my school.
