is it possible to create thumbnails from movies?

Is it possible to create Thumbnails from a movie using the commandline somehow. I got a website that needs to create thumbnails for movies.

I saw this nconvert program and started woundering if your program is able to convert movies aswell to thumbnails?

No, but perhaps a good option for nconvert

It would have been greate with that sort of option since I have searched the webb for weeks without finding a good working and easy to use converter.. All I found was ffmpeg and that one does not work with wmv files version 9.0+ and a couple of other formats.

Do you think there will be anything upcoming soon in this matter? I would gladly test it out.
