"Save as" in view mode overwrites without asking

Bad news. It's not fixed. Same behavior.
I would like to ask about the meaning of 2 options under Options>General: "For 'save as', use same original pathname and format", and "After 'save as', change file name". Exactly what do those settings do? Is it possible that the problem is caused by something there?

That is the behavior I'm experiencing but I don't have Win2k, I have Win98SE.

Strange. There is no warning dialog on Win2k either. Thanks for checking it again.

I've just verified this. I could reproduce the problem in XnView 1.80.3.

And in XnView 1.82.4 and XnView 1.90.3 the problem no longer exists.
