File selection disappears when moving file with Alt+M

First of all: XnView is *the* greatest freeware picture viewer I know, thank you for sharing it with us!

I have only one annoying problem with all versions up to 1.70.4.
When I select a couple of files from the browser and use Alt+M to move them to another folder, after moving the files, the cursor jumps right to the top of the list, which is not very helpful in most cases

The effect can be reproduced always, even if the 'Synchronize Browser Selection with current View' option is checked.

It does NOT happen, if I simply delete a file!!

I haven't found any mentioning of this error here, so I thought it would be worth throwing it it

oh, btw, it would be nice if Alt+M would always show the last used directory (and not the last selected via "...") as default, but this is only a "nice to have"

Hmmm, unfortunately nobody else seems to have the problem or knows what I mean...

BTW, the error occurs with Windows XP professional SP1.

Well after some research I found out that, on another computer with Windows XP Home SP1 and version 1.61 of xnView, the error does not occur! There it does what I expect when using Alt+M: the cursor stays at the next possible position after the moved files.

Is it possible that it is an issue with 1.7x ?
Or is it just me?

You've been simply a bit too quick - it was week-end and all newsgroup members went out for party.

I could reproduce your problem on Windows XP:
Some important additions to your problem report:
- In the browser you choose a folder with many files, so that vertical scrollbars for the file list are shown.
- Scroll to the bottom of the file list and move one or several image at the very bottom of the file list.

-> Right after moving, XnView scrolls back to the very top.

If I understand you right, XnView should not scroll at all. Not sure whether this is feasible, since the file list needs a refresh after moving. Pierre will know...

absolutely correct, this is what I would expect to happen. It seems to work with version 1.61... almost always

probably it is just a small bug, maybe even a bug in the windows listcontrol itself?

I'll watch out for any new version, hoping this could be fixed! Anyway, it is the best imageviewer I ever used!
I'll stay tuned!
