XnView uses a cache for quick access to all the thumbnails when revisiting a folder. But it does not use a database for storing images, image information, or several links that point to one image.

But a way to achieve a sort of categories is by using shortcuts. XnView displays thumbnails of shortcuts, this way you can create separate folder structures (=categories) and link to images without duplicating each image.

In topic "Shortcut of images to another folder (Categorizing images)" I've outlined various ways to create categories and suggested to use categories for shortcuts. I'm not sure how good or bad this works in practice.

Thanks for reply but the B solution have limitation.

I think that a database is necessary for to traces some additional information for every image.
