- Menu>Tools>'Batch convert' opens dialog WITH current viewed file.
- <ctrl+U> open dialog WITHOUT any file.
Is that wanted or... ?
They both open without file in Beta2. Not sure if this is the best solution, but at least they behave similarly... :?
You have an new entry in icon 'File'

If you start a batch conversion or a slide show, you will have to select multiple files. So I think it does not matter much whether there is one file in the list already or not. As written before this file might even bother people that do not want the current file in their batch conversion or slide show.

I think introducing menu items for this is an overkill. From my point of view the menu items just added in beta 2 should be removed, again. You might argue that they don't bother much, which is true, but any ballast not bringing real benefit should be avoided.

I found Claude's idea interesting (and this is not what is implemented in Beta 2, right? :? ).

To develop it further, imagine a [Batch convert] button with this submenu:

Code: Select all

[Batch convert |v]
               empty
               current file
             * selection
               all images from folder
               all images from folder and subfolders
               browse...
(the "*" mark would point to the last selected option. If you click directly on the button, this option would be used)

I think it could be useful. However, I also consider this feature as a minor improvement (and I am not convinced by the beta 2 implementation... :? ).
