Properties: Additional info for video files

Post by helmut »

I'm placing this request in the name of Karlo (who speaks little English, only):

In the properties pane many attributes are listed (File name, Description, File size, ...). For video clips, one can see length, width, height, Frames. I'd like to see additional info:
- Frames per second
- Video compression

Note:
The above attributes can be seen in Properties > Advanced of MS Windows Explorer.

XnView 1.90 <x>

I highly support this but it should be postponed for 1.91 or 2.0.

I'm not sure if there might be problems with the licenses, but this tool can easily determine basic information on all common video formats, and comes in a dll version:

http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en

I know the author answers quickly if you need to discuss using his tool, at some point.

I think the current info is sufficient for now, since it cannot be easily implemented, there are more important things to do* and Pierre is quite busy.

* for example, such a basic option as zoom doesn't work at all in xnview, for videos.

Seems to be a great library, but for another release :-)
Pierre.
