Order of files in directory?

Post by Drahken »

Is there a setting somewhere to tell xnview how to sort files in a directory (ie, by date modified, alphabetic, etc)? I've looked through the options several times and can't find it. I thought maybe it went by whatever the folder was set to in windows, but it currently sorts them by modified regardless of windows settings. (It should be noted though that at one point it was sorting them by name, I have no idea what changed or how.)

In case it makes a difference, I'm talking about when you go next/previous while in viewer mode, not anything with browser mode.

I still can't find it (although it's no doubt staring me right in the face :? ). Can you post a screenshot?

View/Sort by, actually (second in the view menu). This is in the browse menu, not the view, because the two are always linked. Unlike explorer/fax viewer, which tends to always forget and revert back to name.

It's also an icon on the "small toolbar", it looks like a little funnel.

AHA! THAt's the problem, the fact that it only appears when in browser mode.

:) Hello !

• AFAIR, the sorting commands in View mode have been requested, I need them too there,
but I guess that Pierre forgot this “trivial” detail… :(
