I have the same problem as Joran mentioned here on the first post.
This appeared after installing v1.90.1 and the problem is still present on v1.90.2.
It worked fine on v1.90.
The "Remember last window position/size" workaround works but then again I'm
"forced" to use an option I don't really want since I need my XnView to a
given layout on startup and not on the last state.
