'Sort by' option/button in View Window...?

i have xnview to open all images when i double-click them in explorer. the folder of the image is sorted by 'date modified' so all the newest files are easy to find. when i open an image, and view the next image, it is sorted by whatever is in the Browser window. i then have to go into the browser window, change the 'sort by' order, then go back to the view window. this this a hassle.

i look at the browser window and see a 'Sort By' button. although, it is not on the toolbar, but right under it, in another toolbar. i wanted to add this button to the View window toolbar, but i don't see it in the options.

what is the cmd_ for this 'Sort By' button so i can add it to the view window toolbar? is it even possible?

• This has been requested already ages ago, and indeed it's quite missing, so I support such a request (again).

• AFAIK, a "Sort by…" internal command is not available for buttons - that I regret strongly -
and it's related to the lack of a global internal commands management, allowing a deeper and more flexible customization…
