[1.19.4] Browser forgets "Show files in subfolders"
When choosing "Show files in subfolders" once, images are correctly recursively listed. But when you look at the "View" menu again, there is no checkmark next to "Show files in subfolders", although that is the current mode. This also has the undesired side effect, that when opening a single file and goign back to the browser, the browsers points to the directory where the viewed file is located. IMHO, if "Show files in subfolders" is enabled, the browser should point to the directory where it was before opening the file and "Show files in subfolders" should still be marked as enabled in the "View" menu.

Yes, it's by design, this setting is not kept when you change the folder...eyebex wrote:When choosing "Show files in subfolders" once, images are correctly recursively listed. Pierre, eyebex wrote abour 2 cases; I cited only the one when I look at the current pic in detail - I expect browse mode to stay in its state as no action with folders is done. It is very cumbersome to always go again to the desired folder and re-activate "Show files in subfolders" after each (!) view at a picture... is that also by design? Why this design?xnview wrote:Yes, it's by design, this setting is not kept when you change the folder...eyebex wrote:When choosing "Show files in subfolders" once, images are correctly recursively listed. ... when opening a single file and goign back to the browser, the browsers points to the directory where the viewed file is located.

Re: [1.19.4] Browser forgets "Show files in subfolders"
So 'Show files in subfolder' saved in .ini or not?
Pierre.
Re: [1.19.4] Browser forgets "Show files in subfolders"
Oops, misunderstanding - I don't care about persisting the mode across closing & restarting XnView (what .ini does), but I care to persist pit within one browsing session: Turn on "subfolders", double click an image to see it bigger, then return to browser and now you're in the directory containing the image instead of where you've been before (more upwards in the path). Please have again a closer look to the posts above, thank youxnview wrote:So 'Show files in subfolder' saved in .ini or not?
