Loader Error on Windows 95

Post by Markxxx »

I installed 1.916 on my old computer and when I try to run it I get the following error

LOADER ERROR

This procedure entry point SHGetPathFromIDListW Could not be located in the dynamic link library Shell32.dll

Now this is an old computer still using WIN95, so that may be it. I previously had XNVIEW 1.8 on the computer and it worked wonderful, no issues at all.

I was wondering it it is related to the WIN95 and if so is there a workaound?

If not does anyone have a link to the older version of XNView so I can get rid of this and go back.

I like XNview a lot cause it runs so fast on old computers.

Thanks

I think Win98SE is the minimum OS requirement at the moment.
This will probably change to Win2000 or WinXP very soon!
AMD Ryzen 3 3300X 3.8Ghz, 16Gb DDR4, RX6600XT with Dell U2520D at 2560x1440@60Hz scaling 125%

OK I finally found the answer in another thread, 1.9 isn't compatible with Win95. Anyone have a cheap version of Win 98 they want to sell me...

LOL

Anyway does anyone know of a site where I can reload the 1.8 version I had installed. XNview worked great with Win95 on that version

thanks

Please don't drop 98SE before ReactOS becomes usable ( if ever :? ).

No, the problem with 95 is with DB & utf8 support
