Adjust only selected part of image

Maybe I am asking too much since this is a free program and its already packed with so many features, but I'll ask:

Is it possible to adjust only the selected part of an image, ie, hue, saturation, brightness, contrast, level, etc? At present the above adjustments affect the whole picture, not the selected part.

If you select a rectangle in the picture, only this area is adjusted

My apology, you are right it works. I think I tried it before and it didnt work, dont know why.. but at least it works now. Thanks.

In the preview in the dialogs the effects/filters are applied on the whole image, but when confirming the dialog or using "Apply to image" the effects/filters are applied to the selected area, only. Maybe this has confused you... ...it has confused me a bit.

Maybe is it the mature time for Xnview to allow the ability to sketch splines to selected a complex part of image, for filters (blur, ie, hue, saturation, brightness, contrast, level, etc...)?
Because this step is not too big now from this 1.92 version !
