I think the toolbar is a bit bloated. I know it is possible to edit yourself and only show a basic one. However, I think that it should be as simple as possible for the standard user. Advanced users can put more stuff on the toolbar. A lot of the options should be in the menu. Also I like that the interface is more clear, so instead of using icons, it might be a good idea to use a work describing what the button does.
- The filter icon does not make much sense. Should be text.
- The edit favorites icon is out of place. Has anyone ever clicked on that? (It would make much more sense to have it as a text link when you are in the favorites pane)
- The sort by should also be text. It is strange to have an arrow and a-z when you have a wide variety of different possibilities.
- Instead of the view as, I would rather have an option described by a label, so I could change the thumbnail size.
- The rename should not be an icon. It should be triggered when doubleclicking the name of a file.
- The about should not be an icon, you will find that info easy in the Info menu.
- The eye does make sense, but why not just use a double click to show the picture (do not clutter the interface with unneccessary stuff)
- The rotate icons might make more sense, if they are closer to the image, e.g. as PhotoMechanic does.
- There are two icons for rotating, but you can also find the same option under the JPG lossless transformations?

A little baffling, some of these.
Perhaps you'd like an option to hide ALL toolbars? That seems a reasonable request.
I mean no disrespect, but felt that your suggestions may have been "spur of the moment" ideas that deserved individual responses...
I wish the toolbar had more buttons. Favorites on the Basic bar, for instance, and the ability to put any view-relevant command on a button seems de rigeur for any toolbar system.I think the toolbar is a bit bloated
???? Do you mean setup options?A lot of the options should be in the menu.
One can enable button text on in Options->Toolbar->Buttons. For myself, the toolbar text is the first thing I disable in every application. Perhaps you'd like an option to disable icons in the button bar?so instead of using icons, it might be a good idea to use a work describing what the button does.
The coffee filter icon has been in use by Microsoft Office for over a decade. It's a standard iconic image.- The filter icon does not make much sense. Should be text.
I use it all the time as my list of favorites grows and morphs based on my projects. I do wish that Favorites was an hierarchical list (as implied by the folder icons it uses).- The edit favorites icon is out of place. Has anyone ever clicked on that?
That's also another standard image that's been around (in this case) for decades. An "instant recognition" sort of icon, for most people.- The sort by should also be text. It is strange to have an arrow and a-z when you have a wide variety of different possibilities.
A thumbnail size slider control has been requested many times in this forum. Is that what you meant?- Instead of the view as, I would rather have an option described by a label, so I could change the thumbnail size.
Agreed, In-place rename should be the default for all views.- The rename should not be an icon. It should be triggered when doubleclicking the name of a file.
Standard software industry practice. Remove it if you don't like it.- The about should not be an icon, you will find that info easy in the Info menu.
Dbl-click behaviors are configurable in Options.- The eye does make sense, but why not just use a double click to show the picture (do not clutter the interface with unnecessary stuff)
I think I'd like this too, but what about when you have selected a group of files? This needs thoughtful design: functional, behavioral, and visual.- The rotate icons might make more sense, if they are closer to the image, e.g. as PhotoMechanic does.
JPG lossless transforms don't apply to non-jpg images. However, as I understand it (someone correct me here), the secondary image rotate icons default to lossless transform IF the selected file is a jpg.- There are two icons for rotating, but you can also find the same option under the JPG lossless transformations?
Perhaps you'd like an option to hide ALL toolbars? That seems a reasonable request.

I agree with this one: The "?" is even a bit misleading because one might think this will open the help manual.lsolesen wrote:...- The about should not be an icon, you will find that info easy in the Info menu. ...
Also "Options" symbol should be hidden by default - once set one should not be forced to open up the options too often.
