Jpeg2000 error on bigger files?

Post by DilSpi »

Hello,

i made a snappie with the second life (SL) client, which can do JPEG2000 files.

I can open the file in Adobes Photoshop elements without problems.
But with XnView i can only open files up to a size of 1992x1494.

I opend a ticket at SL, cause i first dont get, that other programms open j2c's correct and maybe SL write files in a not so a formal strict way.
Ticket: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3018

I attached a test-file: https://jira.secondlife.com/secure/atta ... 7a_004.j2c

Ciao :)

Im not so sure where to find that, but if its the right place, i use it too.
In XNview-menu under info i see it under plug-in-information and in the program directory under plug-in i have a file with that name and the version number 1.93.6 RC1 (unstable).

environment:
winXP professionell, Service Pack 3, german,
i work only with user rights ...
... and as i wrote this, i think maybe xnView dont like users? - I made the test and logged in with admin-rights. I can read the file now too.

So it maybe a permission-problem.
But only on bigger j2c-files? or is it my dayly-user-account? i will try it with an new fresh account to read the file.

Ciao :)

Im not so sure...
Sorry that were me too.

But i did the test and think i came closer to the point.
Other user-account didnt help, cause XNview seams to write direct on c:\
I used filemon under my admin-account, to look for and got many of this lines:
1953 23:33:22 xnview.exe:4540 WRITE C:\s4ds.c SUCCESS Offset: 509600 Length: 5600
1954 23:33:22 xnview.exe:4540 WRITE C:\s4ds.c SUCCESS Offset: 515200 Length: 5600
1955 23:33:22 xnview.exe:4540 READ C: SUCCESS Offset: 524288 Length: 4096
1956 23:33:22 xnview.exe:4540 WRITE C:\s4ds.c SUCCESS Offset: 520800 Length: 5600

And some of this lines:
331 23:33:12 xnview.exe:4540 QUERY INFORMATION C:\WINDOWS\system32\DXGI.DLL FILE NOT FOUND Attributes: Error
332 23:33:12 xnview.exe:4540 QUERY INFORMATION C:\WINDOWS\system32\D3D10.DLL FILE NOT FOUND Attributes: Error

But this is maybe because i dont have directX10 on my windows XP.

Ciao :)

i tried the jpeg2000 plugin from the XnView 1.94 beta 1 package.
It looks like it has the same behavior, on bigger jpeg 2000 files it shows also only hex.
Ciao
